MIL MIL-DTL-89045A Amendment 1 – GEOSPATIAL SYMBOLS FOR DISPLAYS (GEOSYM)
This detail specification defines the content and formatfor the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Geospatial Symbols forDigital Displays (GeoSym). Although the GeoSym development was undertakenspecifically to support the display of Vector Product Format (VPF) dataencoded with the Feature and Attribute Coding Catalogue (FACC), the graphicfiles and symbol assignment files which make up GeoSym may be used with datawhich is not encoded in FACC if a mapping from the native encoding scheme tothe FACC equivalent can be made.
