The previous editions of this book have been widely used for over 13 years. In this new edition, the author retains the succinctness of the earlier books, by removing material which was of marginal value, and by referring readers who require more detailed information to other resources.
The first U.S. edition, published by ASME Press, includes ASME Code references, which were not included in previous British editions of the book.
