AASHTO MP 43 – Standard Specification for Materials for Emulsified Asphalt Scrub Seal
A scrub seal is the application of emulsified asphalt with a scrub broom followed immediately by an application of a single layer of cover aggregate. The treatment can be applied as a wearing surface or as an interlayer.
AASHTO MP 43-20 specifies quality requirements for aggregate and emulsified asphalt for scrub seals.
